Veterinary internists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders associated with the gastrointestinal, respiratory, urogenital and immune systems, endocrine disease, infectious disease and disorders of the blood. Our internal medicine department is headed by Dr. Ashley Ayoob, our dual board certified specialist in Emergency and Critical Care (American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care) and internal medicine (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) and the only board certified specialist in these two specialties in Southwest Florida. Dr. Ayoob utilizes advanced diagnostics including ultrasound imaging and endoscopy in combination with systemic, nutritional and laboratory evaluation of dogs and cats to determine a personalized treatment plan designed to optimize your pet’s health.
